What is UmlCanvas ?

UmlCanvas is a Javascript library that turns an HTML5 Canvas element into a dynamic and interactive UML diagram editor and presentation tool ... on every HTML page, on and off the web.

UmlCanvas also offers a hosting service that puts your diagrams online. Design your diagram once, include it in many HTML-based formats: your own pages, your blog, feed readers and even Google Wave.

Integrating CASE tools and hosted UmlCanvas, creates a collaborative platform that enable modelers to step out of the closed environment of their desktops and extend their modeling into the social web.

Getting Started

The best way to get started is to try it out yourself. The Documentation section contains a collection of tutorials that guide you along all aspects of UmlCanvas. This way you get introduced to all possibilities and options, allowing you to choose how you are going to incorporate UmlCanvas on your webpages.

If you want to include UmlCanvas diagrams in your own HTML pages, we advise you to start with Your First Local UmlCanvas and choose your path from there. It will show you how to set up UmlCanvas and help you create your first diagram in 5 basic steps.

If you just want to see UmlCanvas in action, you can explore some examples by other people.

If you quickly want to create a diagram and share it with others to discuss and improve it, you'll probably want to start with our Sharing Your First UmlCanvas
