UmlCanvas started out as a little project to enable us to create UML (class) diagrams on webpages, without the need to use a CASE tool, export the diagrams as images and upload them to a server.
We therefore looked at the HTML5 Canvas element, which enabled us to draw diagrams using Javascript.
Currently, UmlCanvas also offers the possibility to host these diagrams in a central place, enabling to inclusion of the same diagram in any HTML-based and internet-connected device.
Building on these technologies, UmlCanvas wants to build a platform to allow Social Modeling and enable online collaboration.
